Revolutionising Remote Healthcare
Suburban Health
The Challenge
Bubble is a remote health monitoring platform aiming to support communication between healthcare professionals (HCP) and patients.
The public healthcare system is under great pressure, and in times of Covid, the elderly had to live with less help from family and carers. Hence, Bubble Medical App is created to take pressure off by enabling health monitoring, facilitating medical data sharing and integrating social activities. The app should allow patients to easily log readings and allow HCP to better monitor multiple patients across facilities and locations. Bubble needs to be designed with different user groups in mind and be accessible to all.
The Solution
The development of Bubble followed a rigorous five-phase approach: Discovery, Ideation, Prototyping, Testing, and Refinement. This process began with expert interviews, requirement gathering, and competitor analysis. User flows were then created to map user interaction with various touchpoints.
Based on research findings, low-fidelity wireframes were developed prioritising data relevant to HCPs on the dashboard, implementing separate communication channels for different stakeholders, and highlighting critical conditions for immediate attention. User testing sessions with HCPs and patients informed further design iterations and the creation of a user interface (UI) adhering to accessibility standards.

The Outcome
The positive impact of Bubble on its core target groups is undeniable. The app’s ability to consolidate diverse health data in one place allows for better prevention of critical health events. Additionally, by enabling fewer but more informed hospital visits, Bubble translates to cost savings for users. The wider community benefits from reduced healthcare system strain, minimised costs associated with hospital visits, and the potential increased budget that could be used for promoting healthier lifestyles.
Lastly, by allowing HCPs to focus their efforts on critical cases, Bubble fosters a more efficient and optimised allocation of medical resources, even leading to quicker turnaround times for prescriptions.
