Make sure you are home for this delivery

Amazon, the online retailer, is well known for stocking just about everything you can imagine.

But for the coming holiday season, Amazon have added a new product to their site, and it includes Prime delivery of course.

Seven-foot live Christmas pine trees.

Yes Amazon will be selling full size christmas trees, and have them shipped directly to your door.

Although I doubt your post box will be able to handle this one, and neighbours won’t be too happy holding on to it for you if you aren’t home to receive the giant package.

Amazon said the trees will al be shipped within at least 10-days of cutting, but that no water will be included in the shipping process. The company says the trees will survive the shipping process.

Amazon has previously listed smaller live trees, but this is the first time you can order a full size christmas tree from the retailer.

“Given the popularity among customers, we increased the assortment,” the company told the AP.

Customers will even be able to choose from various species of tree: Douglas firs, Norfolk Island pines, and other options.

A spokesperson from the National Christmas Tree Association (yup – thats real) told the AP that Christmas tree growers aren’t feeling too threatened by the move.

Going out and picking a christmas tree in person is a real holiday tradition for many families, despite the abundance of artificial alternatives available – nothing beats the real thing.
