UX Connections’ Trip to Dubai!
Our week in Dubai as a full team was packed full of exciting experiences. Bringing together our London, Gothenburg, New York and Sydney offices, our excursion was definitely one to remember. Read on to get a feel for what we got up to over there!
Design Week
One of the first things we did during our Dubai trip was visit Dubai Design Week. It was an interesting mix of all different design forms and techniques. Whether it be traditional art and craft with a modern outlook, or even a futuristic concept car with a super modern interior, there was something for everyone!
One really exciting part was the AR paintings that came to life after being scanned with an iPad. As well as this, there was a motion tracking musical experience that let you make sounds as you moved your hand across. For anyone in Dubai right now, we’d say Design Week is definitely worth a visit!
Meeting A Real Estate Client
On Monday, a few of our consultants met with a real estate client to discuss future work plans! We spoke to their agents, marketing department and even visited the call centre employees who control the CRM. It was to aid our initial discovery and understand what the issues are in order to improve the CRM for their agents, as well as their clients in order to improve longevity!
Desert Trip
We left the city on Sunday to visit another facet of Dubai, which is the desert. The exciting desert safari took us to experience different activities we would have never done, such as dune bashing, sand boarding, camel riding and even quad biking. It is absolutely unforgettable!
Viewpoints: Burj Khalifa & The View at The Palm
Something Dubai is known for is the amazing night view and the futuristic high-rises. We went on to both Burj Khalifa, the highest building in the world, and The View at The Palm, which looks down at Dubai’s legendary artificial island. It gave us the opportunity to learn about their history and building process on our way to the top. We were astonished at the view and at the same time felt unreal about going up to the skyscraper that Tom Cruise climbs in Mission Impossible.
Lunch with IXDA
On our last day, Chris and a couple of consultants met for lunch with the Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF) at One&Only Royal Mirage Hotel. It was a great experience being able to connect with industry partners and discuss how we can go about educating the next generation. Overall, it was a great experience, and a fantastic way to end our amazing company trip to Dubai!
Looking back, our trip was packed full of exciting experiences that we will never forget. A standout aspect was definitely the trip to the desert, and all of the team meals where we all got to know each other even better. We hope you’ve enjoyed our Dubai content, and remember to keep an eye out for our next campaign!
